How To Turn On Notifications!
There has been a lot of chatter around the new Facebook and Instagram algorithms. Basically the techy guys at Facebook (who own Instagram, FYI) want to take Facebook back to the beginning when it was a more personal social network rather than your news feed being filled up by posts from all the pages and groups you like.
This is great for individuals, but as a page manager what it means is that unless your audience engage with your posts the algorithm isn’t going to show your posts in the news feed of your followers.
So Now What?
One of the things you can do is to ask your followers to turn on their notifications. By simply tweaking the ‘Following’ settings of the page you love, you can manually make sure you never miss a post from your favourite page.
How Do You Do That On Facebook?
- On the Page, hover over the word ‘Following’
- Under ‘In Your News Feed’ select the See First or Default option.
- Under ‘Notifications’ select the little edit icon on the right hand side.
- On the menu that opens up, tick the boxes under all the different types of posts that you want to be notified about (posts, live videos, offers, events etc) and select ‘Done’ when you are finished.
If you want to specifically follow a particular post, you can also click on the 3 dots next to the post and select ‘Turn on notifications for this post’.
